Roof Coating

Roof coating is a monolithic, fully adhered, fluid applied roofing membrane. Many roof coatings are elastomeric, that is, they have elastic properties that allow them to stretch and return to their original shape without damage.

Typical roof coating dry film thickness vary from paint film thickness (plus or minus 0.075 mm (3 dry mils) to more than 1 mm (40 dry mils). This means a roof coating actually becomes the top layer of a composite roof membrane and underlying system. As such, the roof coating is the topmost layer of protection for the membrane, receiving the impact of sunlight (both infrared and ultraviolet (UV)), rain, hail and physical damage.

Roof coatings are seamless and when installed correctly, can solve roof leaks on almost any type of roofing material. Roof coatings can add 25 years to the service life of a roof and reduce the amount of discarded roofing materials that end up in landfills.

We provide the following roof coating:

All of our roof coating services have 10 year warranties and 5 year FREE maintenance call and roof service!

Torch Down Roof

Torch down roofing (sometimes referred to as “torch on” roofing) is so named because it requires an open-flame propane torch. In this installation method, sheets of modified bitumen are rolled out onto the roof, and a roofing professional uses a hand-held propane torch to heat the material and adhere it to the surface. Once the layers reach the right temperature, seams are melted together to create a waterproof seal.

There are two main types of torch down roll roofing: two-layer systems and three-layer systems. Both systems have a base and cap sheet, but in the three-layer system, the roofing professional will apply a base sheet, then a smooth cap sheet, and finish with a granule cap sheet. This extra layer helps extend the life of the roof and usually enhances fire resistance, energy efficiency, color, or other features.

A torch down roofing system is best for slightly pitched roofs, between ¼: 12 to 1: 12 pitch, where your goals are to have a durable and long-lasting roof that stands up well to the elements, especially snow. If the roof is completely flat, torch-on roofing is not typically recommended.

Hot Tar Roof

A hot tar roof is a type of flat commercial roof that consists of layers of roofing tar and roofing felt. Sometimes, fiberglass and other materials are used as well, and gravel is often placed on top as a final layer. These layers get “built up” by being stacked on top of each other, creating the protective roofing structure that will protect your business.
